Turn on your computer and Blackberry.
If either device is powered off, you’ll want to turn it on now.
Connect the Blackberry to the PC with a USB cable.
If you don’t have the cable that came with your Blackberry, any USB cable will do.
Plug the smaller side of your USB cable into the small USB port on the side of the Blackberry itself. Then plug the other side of the cable into the USB port of your PC.
Wait for your Blackberry to install.
Wait for the device to install automatically.
When you connect your Blackberry, it will automatically install itself on your computer. Wait for this process to finish.
Look for a pop-up notification.
When your Blackberry is installed, a small pop-up will appear on your task bar.
You are now ready to go!
Tips
- Avoid disconnecting the USB cable during installation or file transfer. Doing so may corrupt your files.
- If your computer cannot read your phone, try checking the Blackberry website for the specific drivers that suit the model of your phone. You can do this at http://us.blackberry.com/software.html?lid=us:bb:software:software&lpos=us:bb:software.
